Yep ,Pogoing , after ever bump or pothole , forward to aft ,yet normal side to side. Just took my mates 2009 TDV6 for a spin in Newman and I couldnt believe how bad it Pogoes down the road (smooth bitumen that is)
He then took mine for a drive and realised that this pogoing was not a standard feature although 20,000 back he told the Stealer about it and the stealer said it was Normal. !!!
Its as if there are NO rear shockers in it ! Simply standing on his rear bumper and jumping up and down gets this Pogoing action happening, although there seems to be some resistance to compression ,yet absolutely no control over Rebound. Yeah, jump on it and jump off ,it then does 3 or 4 oscillations before it stops !
Anyone had anything similar ?

Well the dealer is an idiot, it will be stuffed shocks for sure, that test you did by standing on the rear bumper, confirms it.

Am I right in guessing that 20,000km ago - it was still in warranty? Now it is out of warranty, the dealer will have a different opinion!

Yeah, Pat,the road to the airport is our favourite test track , got some nice rolling whoops where all the road trains Assemble and pullout . Being a 2009 model hes got about 4 months left of Warranty . Another trip to Perth to make them fix it this time .

Shocks should be covered by warranty. They are not consumable there is a reasonable expectation to last longer than the warranty. Some have had them replaced under warrnanty. It is a failed part not just worn in this case.

I'm doing the gunbarrel/great central in 10 weeks. Is stewarts worth the drive?,I've heard through the grapevine that Hicks crater will be a no goer soon as a mining lease will isolate it so I want to get out and see it soon. Pat

The official life of a shock is around ~40,000km...
There is no expectation of warranty over 100,000km....
Just like brake pads and rotors... Some get 100,000+ some get 15,000km
I brake quite hard (and later than most people) so consume pads at a quicker rate than say my mother, who has same pads and rotors on her vehicle for last 5 years....
Imagine if a vehicle spent all its time towing and offroad... Shocks will die much faster than a shopping center crawler...

I meant within the warranty period/km. To have that much bounce shocks have failed and is not normal wear and tear.
Failed bushes are replaced under warranty so should shocks.
