Morning all,
Just this week I took my D3 V6SE in for a service - got a phone call later that afternoon informing me that whilst undergoing the service, the hose for the power steering had come loose from the retaining bracket and had subsequently been cut by the radiator fan.
Has anyone else experienced this/ is this a common fault? May be a concern if off road use may contribute to the hose coming loose from the bracket and loosing power steering out yonder...
Other point of note is that the parts for the repair have to come from the UK - which makes me think there may be more at stake than just a power steering hose - perhaps they (Austral Brisbane) are replacing the retaining bracket also?
To date, Austral have been very good and as the incident occured under their auspices, all costs are being borne by them - they have also fixed me up with a loan of a new Freelander 2, which I have to say is pretty impressive - every cloud has a green lining it seems.......!
