Email address issues ?

I may soon be losing my @optusnet address.

While I have a gmail address, when I have tried to update my email on several things (eg youtube for example) it tells me that it wont accept those type of addresses as a primary email !

(I find this ironic since google owns youtube).

Anyway given I won’t be where the optusnet cable connection is, and eventually that connection will be terminated… suggestions ?

Get Bigpond up in a webpage. Click on MyBigpond, top right corner. Click on the button for you've lost your Username. That will prompt you to put in your mobile number and from there you can setup a Bigpond email address.

Big Pond charge me $25/year for that, (they can't tag an old business email addy onto a home bundle ADSL connection, so they say....) so at a guess Optus would be lineball.

Was pretty sure that Vlad was Iphone on Telstra and since I'm the same I went looking and signed myself up for one.:p

I know optus can host a "dial up" type acct fr around $5- month to keep your email and have it forwarded. No need to access, just have your new service access it remotely.
