I'm surely not the only old codger that remembers this film, made and screened in town halls around Australia over 40 years ago.
From a LandRover perspective it was about Malcom and friend taking a series one from Melbourne to Cape York and beyond.
There was a segment in the film where Mal was living and working with Aboriginals in Arnhem Land where they caught and killed what I vaguely recall him claiming to be a 33ft (10 metre)long Crocodile.
Does anyone here with a better memory than I remember or have a copy of the film, that can verify that claim?
There has been a croc caught recently at 6.4 metres that is claimed as the biggest ever caught, but that's in the philipines.
I believe there is one on display in Normanton at 8 metres.

Like you I do remember it, but don't have a copy. That one in the Phillipines was only a pup compared to the one shot in the Norman river in Normanton in 1957 by Krys Pawlowsi, a polish lady. It was 8.63 metres - a big lizard. There was also one of similar proportions shot on a sand flat in Mackay from the verandah of one of the riverbank hotels in the late 1800's I seem to recall. No doubt there are still some big ones around.

Bill I have got the DVD and I think the croc you are talking about is in chapter 6 of the scene selection.
Malcolm doesn't say how big it was in terms of feed just that it took 10 Men to move it they got it with a 303 then finished it off with an axe.
The skin went for $140 in Darwin.

I have the DVD and got it from Malcom's Crocodile farm by mail order. I guess it would still be available even though Malcom isn't.
