Quick question, I'm on lunch so not much time.
Will Cooper A/T3 265/65R17 fit the D3 with Performance Whells BB6?
These are a light truck tyre.
Thanks I did a search but too much info for the time I have.

I'd say yes, slightly oversize:
265/65 R17 = 776.3 OA diameter
 255/55 R19 = 763.1 OA diameter

Hi,

I Run 265/65x17 D694 LTs on BB6 alloys on a D4 2.7L they fit with no issues. I can even get the spare which is brand new in the std wheel well. Each tyre manufacturer is different though so the coopers may be a few millimtres either way from the D694s there are many running much larger than this. Also check your local regs to make sure you are not outside of any requirements.

Regards.

These tyres are on Coopers web site.

It works out at about a 4cm bigger tyre, I think I will try to go with these & hope that the spare will fit. If not I will just have to deflate & carry my little compressor every where.
Thanks for the calculator.

Thanks, that gives me more confidence.

The reason for the rush job is that the wheels have just arrived in Mt Isa (after 7 weeks) & if I get the tyres ordered first thing tomorrow there is a good chance I can get them fitted, balanced& on next weeks Doomadgee truck.
I did not think about the spare fitting! From memory there is not a lot of room around the current 19's but I hope a bit of Jiggling & Wiggling will get it in.

It will be nice to get the D3 out of the carport, because of no spare it has been in there for ages.

Does any one have any experience of the Cooper A/T3?
Or am i going to be the Guinea Pig? According to the wife I'm a bit of a pig.
Thanks for the quick replies, I will order these first thing tomorrow.

We have had a set of 265x60x18" AT3's for roughly a week and so far so good. Not noisy on most surfaces, but you can sometimes notice some rumble on different tar surfaces.

To date they have provided a very nice ride for what is a fairly aggressive A/T. They don't look that agressive in the pics but they sure do once fitted. Have not been off road yet so have no idea how good they are off road.

I will have a much better idea how good these tyres are in a few more weeks, but so far so good.

cheers,
Terry

I hope your A/T3 LI 120 give a better ride with D3 shocks than my Yoko AT/S LT245/70-17 LI 119 and 3-ply sidewalls do. I'm already thinking about the D694 in 255/65-17 (LI 114) or 265/65-17 (LI 116) as alternatives. Maybe I just need shocks with softer high-speed valving though.

I have ordered the Cooper A/T3 in light truck 265/65R17.
The should arrive on the BB6 wheels Thursday week. Man, am I looking forward to this.:D
I don't know what the total bill will be yet, just freight will be over $200 but 5 X BB6 wheels worked out less than 1 OME 17" wheel & if I don't destroy 2 tyres a year I have got to be ahead.
Love the look but totally over those 19's.
I am still considering what to do with the 19" rims & 4 Conti's that are in goodish nick.
I intend keeping the D3 until retirement so I might try to sell them but my location is a pain with that. We'll see.

I will hazard a guess you will be very pleased with the AT3's, I am with ours. I am amazed at how well they handle on road at speed for a A/T.

Did some minor off roading on the weekend up the side of a very steep rocky washed out hill track that was several k's long and they worked well both going up and then back down.
Still its a bit hard for me to judge their off road prowess just yet as I have never taken the D3 off road previously, but it was a serious track and even my D1 would have worked hard going up it.

cheers,
Terry

Well, my black BB6 wheels have been in Mt Isa for well over a month - the Coopers on order for over a month.
I still don't have them.
The tyre bloke tells me he is having all sorts of trouble getting the tyres, short supply, more popular than expected etc.
Would that be right?
I'm starting to feel I'm being ****ed about because I'm up here in Doomadgee (no, I'm not pariniod).
So, the frustration levels are really getting up there. Week after week, truck after truck, no wheels & tyres.:(
The D3 just sits in the carport, gets driven out onto the driveway every second week-end for a wash & back into the carport.
At least it still starts.
Gee I'm betting annoyed!

Can you ring Brisbane to let them know your situation in case they can do something special?
Are you inclined to fit the same tyre in LT245/70-17 (same diameter) in case they're available?

Or if they can't get supply in Australia, see what you can get from Tirerack.
