Just picked this up yesterday and it has intersting cut outs around the headlights far too neat to be a home ventilation job I am guessing its around a 55 I couldnt find a chassis number but I didn't have a good look having too much fun driving it around the paddock.

Nice find, wish we could have driven klonk before we started the stripdown (broken front spring mounts).

Must have a good engine, hard enough to push that roobar, let alone catch a roo.

Cheers Steve

Sorry for the late reply but I didnt get back to the farm until easter
I spent easter giving it a bit of TLC and the little truck just drove so well the only problem is my three year old son can start it by himself, lucky he cant reach the pedals or he would be driving it down the paddock.

Black betty got a make over during the ekka week new seats, fuel tank, radiator and a full set of lights not to mention all the oils, filters, brakes. We did 111 miles in the week and did 50mph not bad for a farm truck.

wow looks alot better being green. looks not to bad at all over all.50mph that is pretty good to. the good thing with these are you can leave them sitting for ages and they normally start straight away.i have one like this but it has a s3 engine it sat for 7 years and started straight away pretty much and then again it sat for 18 months and started straight away, and they are fun to drive espicially with the doors off and the window down

Bugs tend to hurt at 50mph with the windscreen folded down but your right what a feeling

Has anyone done a limited use farm registration in Qld before?
I am thinking this might be a good idea just to get from property to property.

Now you will have to change the name. The seats look good, are they home made?

The timber seat bases and the steel backs are home made but I had the vinyl done by a trimmer. It made the world of difference from the loose plastic chair it came with.

Well Easter was busy black Betty got her new boots and brakes worked well after I clamped the rear hose. Photo is of her on firewood duty sporting her new land rover plate on the guard.

Well black Betty is now famous stared in her first music video. http://youtu.be/XHdZcyIn3NA
She received a new unleaded head this week which made the world of difference to the engine
We urgently need a soft top to copy so the kids don't get baked in the sun on safari. If you can help out I would love to hear.
If not I am off to the UK next year so I will pick up a new one.

Bettys looking good. Ive been admiring your land rover sign on the front guard, it looks the part. Annard and thompson used to put it on the rear tail gate as well, good colour.

Klonk also came from Brisbane, I would like to know how he got over here (WA) but his history has been lost. I want to signwrite the tailgate so people following will know its not a bloody jeep:mad: but havent found any photos of the backend yet

Cheers Steve
