I am looking to install a GME TX3540 and was wondering if anyone would suggest a good place to have it installed in Sydney? I would also appreciate any comments or suggestions on if this is a good unit or if i should be looking at other brands. I like the idea of hiding the main unit and controlling via the handset.

Hi discophil it's a great unit I have the earlier version installed in my D4.
I did it myself with the information from this site, it was an easy job and I know it has been done properly.

Don't know of any place in Sydney that I would trust to do it, what are you fitting it to?

I think I have that the one in my truck. I put it on the side of the centre box down low with the hand piece there as well just up a little higher. Easy to get too, not in the way of the seat or seat belt and as noted by a few people that people in the back seat could have a chat as well:D.

The unit is fine. Consider the arial as this is what has the most impact on your communications. Highway use or in mountains might be best serviced by a arial change. the wrong one for your required use will impact more than you might think.

NV Autotorque, Rushcutters Bay, did the install for me with the LAB Electronics, Mittagong 02 4871 1218, aerial mount on the LHS.
