Chaps, I'm assuming that my OEM UK detachable towbar isn't worth leaving in the car when it's shipped to Oz ? Looking on here you all seem to have a different setup albeit it appears to have the same size ball as the UK (50mm?)
It's this type https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2011/10/1274.jpg

Are we talking D3 ? Aahh...looks like an RRS in the Avatar. It looks like the older type. They are still used, The D4 has a slightly better example. It is just that we have a of better options, although that comes down to your priorities.
Asthetics aside, if you want to access the spare without removing the hitch lug, or perhaps a better departure angle is required. Check out the posts for the Mitch Hitch.

You would need to check if it conforms to Australian Standards (ADR 62/01):
Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 62/01 - Mechanical Connections Between Vehicles) 2006 (http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Series/F2006L01453)

Which is why ours are different and designed by LR oz. I think they have to have a tongue under ADRs.
