I have come across 97 130 with 225,000 km, it is very straight no dents no rust. The only problem is it has a stuffed transfer case.
What do you guys reckon it's worth?

Hey mate,

I'm pretty sure the transfer case on a 300Tdi (?) is an LT230.... I think your best bet would be calling a decent wrecker (like Triumph Rover Spares) and ask them if they have any reconditioned boxes around and how much?

Couldn't give you a guess as to how much it's worth.

A good t/fer should be found for around 500 and add about 3 hrs labour.
So about 800 less than a going vehicle. Factor tow costs if necessary.

Of course doing it yourself will remove the labour cost.:)

do you know what the problem is with the t/c?

from your post it is inferred that cost is an issue .... you may not be aware that they are repairable :)

The transfer case has a crack in it and is leaking quite badly. He only wants $3000 for the 130.
I was thinking about either getting a reco transfer and on selling it, or keeping it and using bits for my 110. Maybe swapping the roof over to make a 110 dual cab.
Also has any one put a 130 on a car trailer before? Do they fit or do you need a longer than average car trailer?
