Got back on Friday night after a quick trip from Perth to Wodonga, left tuesday morning and got home Friday night about 9pm. Trip was great, the P38 did everything asked of it and a bit that was not asked of it. Motor locked up in the north of WA. RACV Total Care were fantastic, organised a truck to take the RR and Tvan down to Perth were my best man organised his mechanic to fix it. The water was leaking in whenever you turned the motor off. Previous head job was done by a Range Rover dealership under warranty at 123,000 Km and was a **** of a job. They used an emery disc to clean the head and block so the perth mechanic was amazed, he sent head of to be fixed and then had the heads and valley cover pressure tested and they came up OK. He pressure tested the block and cold, it had no leaks. He wanted to put a reconded block in but I was not sure and asked him to put it back together. He used the sniffer and found hydrocarbons in the water. I asked him to put some chemiweld in which he did and test for hydrocarbons again and all was clear. With that we shot home and it will have a more permanent fix here.

But overall, it was a fantastic trip and these are just some of the things you have to overcome. If I can figure out how to upload pics from my computer I will upload some.

Just be gentle to the old girl and she'll run forever. If i can conquer Birdsville and Big Red, then you can too.
