Hello All,

Welcome to SLOw. The Series Landy Owners Club.

We are a Motor Vehicle Club dedicated to series Land Rovers in Australia. So if that is your thing, take off your boots, relax with a cuppa, and lets get on chatting, fixing and restoring our series Landy's.

G'day Michael,

thought you might like to have a look at this logo design I've drawn.
The leaf springs, in this design, forms the oval border itself, and would frame any text used.
Let me know what you think. :)

Maybe Col Capt SLOW will have to change from a fully loaded man to a Leaf Sprung Man,,:p
Actually,
"Champion of SLOW"
has a nice ring to it--

I beleive following the structure of rank, I will remain a Colonel, with Incisor being Major Slow and Scallops taking up the position of Captain Slow.

As to whetther or not I remain to be "Fully Loaded", well that just depends on the time of day and location.

Hi Mrs Ho Har

Free camping is available at my place or on our family farm at Elderslie and this also goes for any members of the AULRO, that wants to leave the fast lane behind and enjoy the countryside.
If anyone wants to bring their young or old family over to Tasmania and not spend a fortune, I'm sure we can find around Tassie, a few more spots as well, if we ask about.

Now how SLOw was that ? an overnight stop !

Cheers Arthur

Ladies and Gents,
I salute your efforts for what seems a fun, well aimed association.
I am interested in becoming a founding member, but have not seen any goals, aims or limitations, apart from 'yours springs should be leaven'.
Is the club-to-be intended for those of a certain geographic region? I note in another thread concessional registration will be available in QLD, what of other states? I do realise an interstate club is more difficult than keeping boundaries secure.

Its a slow day at work...:)

Hello All,

If you can see this you have been invited to participate in the forming of a new motor vehicle club in SEQ, potentially nationally, specifically catering to the Preservation, Restoration and enjoyment of Land Rover Series Leaf Sprung Vehicles.

My intentions are to from a club of likeminded persons dedicated to their loveable vehicles while still retaining the most important ideal. It must be fun, and it must be enjoyable.

The objectives I am trying to achieve are:

Offer the ability to access the discounted Historical Rego Scheme for our vehicles
Hold regular workshop/tinkering/BBQ social days helping out fellow members
Run a select number of organised trips throughout the year, Day, weekend and extended trips, specifically tailored around a series vehicles capabilities
Have a visible appearance to the general public while supporting smaller rural townships
Have an easy to access trip run register so members can hold impromptu trips
Create a collective group for exchanging knowledge, help, advice and parts specifically to do with Series Land Rovers
Work towards holding a Show and Shine day

Welcome aboard.

CC

Answer the question:D

My style is to try to be as inclusive as possible while keeping it simple. I do not want to be tied to a specific region and want to allow clusters of widespread members the ability to both have their own trips as well as the possibility of joining in on other ones in other regions and possibly have some others join them.

Hello Fellow SLOw people,

Please count me in to the SLOw group. It could be a while before I can join any events as I am slowly restoring my Series III. I am planning on speeding this process up :o - if that is allowed within this group; as I have developed an idea that would do Baldric out of Black Adder proud … because – “I have a very cunning plan my Lord”.

Kind Regards
Lionel

Welcome aboard Lionel.

You do not have to have a vehicle running to participate in SLOw. In fact you don't even need to have a vehicle. Alot of the reason we formed this is to help people get their vehicles running.

Slow events as well as drives are workshop days and helping hands, so you can host one yourself and get some other members help, or attend someone else's day, and help them as well as learning.

There will always me trips in our cars though, to give that extra carrot to strive for and because that is what owning our series is all about. Enjoying using, restoring and preserving series landies.

Welcome aboard.

it goes by the financial year end date you have to decide on / declare when you apply to incorporate the club.

as decided by the committee 30th May is the end of the clubs financial year and a new one starts 1st june each year so fees need to be in by 30th May 2012 and annually from there on in.

there is no joining fee so there is no prorata on fees, just a flat $25 for the year. that may change at the next agm as what was done this year was to get the ball rolling and there needs to be structural change to the constitution to alter some things the government wasnt to keen on when we went thru the incorporation process.
