So who else has also seen the first 2 episodes ? A great nostalgic look at the evolution of the car in Australia. The second episode had a brief piece on Len beadell.

Me.
It's an excellent series.
More of a glossy coffee table version than an encyclopaedia version.

What a beaut show. Thanks for putting me on to it,it bough back memories of riding around in the back seat of an EH Holden with no seat belt, climbing over into the back of the Wagon for a snooze while Mum was driving. My Kids didn't believe we did it as a matter of course, nobody wore seat belts.

Yeah Great Series!
Pity only 3 of them though. :(

Great footage of the cars we grew up with, ah sleeping in the back of the family station wagon on early morning starts!

In the second one it showed footage of Warringah Mall when it was more outside carpark than shops. ;)

For those who missed some of it view it on iview:

Yeah, a good bit of nostalgia. It was a funny feeling to see all those vinyl bench seats and chrome fittings and feel childhood flooding back.

One gripe, however. In the second show, which dealt with the Aussie muscle cars...not one mention of the fastest of them all, the E49 Charger. Typical.

In fact the c-word popped up once in that episode: when Vince Sorrenti said Bathurst was more interesting once because of all the different cars like "Datsuns and Chargers".

I know that the "Hey Charger" thing was mentioned last night, but as usual the muscle car years were depicted as a two horse race.....

What made me laugh was "Australia's own car Holden", what a joke, Regards Frank.

The charger wasn't the quickest though, the XWGTHO with the 3.9 diff option was quicker :)

Great show though
