Castrol's latest oil (as of about 10 days ago) for all LR 2.7 & 3.0 engines is Castrol Edge Professional C1 5W-30 which replaces the previous SLX Professional C1 5W-30 (non-DPF vehicles) and SLX Professional Powerflow C1 5W-30 (DPF vehicles) and is the previous Powerflow version renamed. It is available in 20L drums as product code 3375617, costing just under $300 from my local distributor. It is not yet listed on the Castrol web-site but the TDS can be found at www.tds.castrol.com.au (http://www.tds.castrol.com.au) with EDGE as the search parameter.

Graeme,
Sorry for my ignorance but what does "DPF" stand for ?
I am sure I who have a Homer Simpson "doh" moment when you tell me!

Diesel Particulate Filter - the exhaust part that stores soot/etc in situ and then when the ECU figures the time is right, dumps extra fuel into the system and burns off the stored crap.

Forgot to mention - using the wrong engine oil in cars with DPFs can clog them up... not good!

Checked with my dealer this morning re: if my 2009 D4 3.0Lt has a DPF.
It doesn't thank goodness.
Apparently it was only the first 100 bought into the country.
Cheers, Craig
