Hi I have broken the glass in the drivers side mirror and want to remove it and get a new mirror cut to suit. Can someone tell me how you remove the mirror?
Thanks
Andrew

Buy a new the mirror, it comes with the plastic backing plate which just pushes on. You will probably break the plastic retaining clips trying to remove it.

They are not that expensive and should be readily available from a Dealer - they were when I need to buy one.

Hi all
I had a broken near-side mirror replaced the other day by TRS in Adelaide. It cost $145 for a second hand one and I think the new ones were A LOT more!

Glass only @ trivett for a D3 was around $137.... easy to fit yourself.
comes with heater on back as well.

Thanks all, my D3 has had the mirror replaced from its previous life with glass to match stuck to the backing and hence is flat mirror, not a convex one as standard. I prefer the flat mirror on the drivers side and would like to do the same and get another flat mirror cut to suit.
Its not the cost I'm trying to avoid, but a convex mirror, so would like to remove the current backing plate and not break it or its clips, so it can be refitted.
Was hoping someone could tell me how it comes off, does it pull out, up, sideways??????
Thanks Andrew
