After being contacted by another Aulro member yesterday enquiring about the Koni's I thought I'd give a brief update of how they are going.

I have now done over 7,000 ks with the Koni FSD's fitted and I still reckon its the best money I have ever spent on any aftermarket improvement on any vehicle I have owned.

They seem to have loosened up a little bit but the handling and ride is still excellent even with the 265x60x18 AT3's fitted, which should not be considered as a high performance street tyre. Just ask the two blokes in the new white RRS who tried real hard to keep up through the twisty sections of Braidwood Road last Sunday. ;)

It is an huge understatment to say the Koni's are confidence inspiring even on a vehicle that already handled pretty good, but they do make that much of a difference to the D3. :D

cheers,
Terry

I found the attached Koni FSD installation pdf - not a simple install on a 3 but it is doable. The second time around would be easier I suppose.

Various reviews on cars seem to suggest that for the most part, the ride is as stock until you drop into a pothole or off a sharp edge; then the shocks absorb the drop and all seems quieter and more civilized.

One BMW review said they do not turn a BMW into a Buick, (which is good I guess), but I sure miss the ride in my Roadmaster so ....
