Gday All,
Just spent 2 hrs on the side of the road along with about 100 other cars whilst the Obama/Gillard clown show came to town..
Would be alright if the public were able to see anything but NO invite only and back to the airport, the whole time the roads and footpaths were closed, so even tho I was on a pushbike and could see the street I live and it was a hr before the motorcade was due it was no go.He spent all of about 1 hr away from the airport.
**** off back home is all I can say.
Cheers Ean

Lucky it has been a low profile visit, imagine if they wanted Mr Prez to appear important.
I had the similar delay back when George No2 came to town and all the air traffic had to get out of the way.

The classic is the news reporting that the people of Darwin lined the roadway from the airport to the war memorial in town and back to see the prez...yeh we had no bloody choice, you couldn't move anywhere, so you had to sit and wait.
We didn't even get to see the Obama mobile, he was in a bloody Suburban.

Funny how a large part of the 70's 80's and 90's saw Australians striving to get pollies to shut down US Bases in AUS... and now that double crossing, bum sniffing Ranga C.O.A.T. and her buddies sign us up for more of them.
At what point do we actually get a say in what this crazed bastard coalition are doing?
Still don't understand why we can't sue our political leaders for lying and poor performance of delivering what we actually vote for.
Are they legally immune from the performance measurement ALL working Aussies face from their employers every day?

I would send your local MP a bill for your time wasted. What BS they should not have the right to do that.

Why all this security here? Perhaps someone should point out to them that the only place American Presidents get shot is in America.

Wait untill the yanks arrive in Darwin in force.
The place will be rife with prostitution and drugs.
Now is the time to visit, in a few years you will not want to go anywhere near the place !!! I pity you who are going to have to " live " there.
They may be a nation of sick people but I would sooner them than the Muslims or Reds, even tho we are led by the commy left here now.
What a horror.
I realize that to use the no word , commy, with regard to our labour party
is politically incorrect but stiff.

You guys should not really complain, that was a one time event
If you lived in Moscow it would happen every day that the Russian president is driven to and from the centre to his house in the posh suburb, sometimes stopping traffic for two hours because of the traffic jams caused by the streets being closed. I have experienced this!!!
Imgaine the PM being driven from centre of Sydney to say Hornsby each rush hour and blocking the Northern highway, then you would complain I reckon!!![smilebigeye]
