Hi everyone. Is there any tricks to get into yr F2? He's in an underground carpark and some electronic signal is upsetting the thing. LR assist are on the way but he's in his kilt and reaped in the beer tent waiting.

Is there some bypass code?

Can't he just put the key into the door lock and open it that way? Or doesn't it have an external lock?

I saw a woman in the USA stuffing about with her keyfob trying to unlock her car so people could get out. It wasn't working so I suggested she put the key in the door lock.

That worked. Doh!

If it's a FL2 you pop the plastic cover covering the door lock, you then undo the clip on the remote fob and it revels an old fashioned key. Put key in key hole turn and unlock door. Alarm will sound, put fob in car and start it.

It's all in the manual which everyone reads right?

I did a similar thing at work, a teacher came to me and said we can't use the tv in our room, the remote's not working....so I walked to the other end of the school, pressed the channel up button, tv turns on, pressed the tv/av button, DVD player shows on the screen, took remote, fitted new batteries, all done!
She didn't even bring the remote up to me at the start so I could put new batteries in it.

Funny how quickly you can forget that most (but not all) things can still be operated if you get off the couch (only in an emergency of course!!)
When I gave away my last amplifier it all worked except the volume knob which used optical sensors to monitor movement of the knob, it had NEVER been used in 11 years and was (I presume) clogged with dust, but it worked fine with the remote.

OT, but there you go..

Thanks everyone. The remove the plastic cover trick and find the old key trick was explained over the phone. It was tried and failed. LR assist showed up and tried using some force and it worked. My mate was being too gentle with key. Scared to freak it off.

Funny thing about the manual. He called RAC and asked if they were LR assist. No. You'll have to call them direct, we don't have the number but it'll be in the manual in the glove box. Mate, which part of I'm locked out of my car don't you understand?

Anyway. All is good now. He had a pint of Bellhaven while waiting for rescue.
