With the imminent arrival of a Series 2 109 with wiring issues I'm investigating a replacement wiring harness.
Autosparks in the UK are 144.68 GBP but I need to check if this is the main harness only, braided etc. plus of course the freight costs.

Has anyone purchased a harness from them ? It would be good to get some feedback on their product.
There are a couple of local companies (Ringwood & Lilydale) but they are over $400. Scotts Auto Rubbers list them but I'm guessing they would be made in either Ringwood or Lilydale.......

It was interesting that brass bullet connectors (solder-on) locally were listed at 36cents each whereas Autosparks are 1.06 GBP each !

I bought a harness thru John Craddocks in the uk. It was about the same price or slightly cheaper than the one from Auto sparks

The harness was complete even came with wiper motor extension leads hi/low beam leads etc. The only thing it didn't have was some basic instructions ...but with a good wiring diagram it didn't take too long to install.
It is of the braided type looks good and most of the wires are colour coded to the original

I also bought a new [original] type fuse box a 10 pack each of single/double replacement type connectors and a hole heap of rubber grommet's from Auto sparks
Found both company's very good to deal with and the freight wasn't to bad. I think it was about 30GBP for the harness

Thanks Lostkiwi,

I'll contact Autosparks & confirm exactly what is supplied, whether indicators add to the cost etc.
I re-visited their site and I was incorrect about the bullet connectors, they are 1.06GBP per 10 so 50% cheaper than local. Looks like I'll be stocking up on terminals & bullet connectors when I order......

I bought my first series 3 harness from them and the quality was good the only issue was the UK series 3 is different to the CKD version (fuel tank location) but that was not their fault and they were only too happy to help fix the changes at no cost. When I was at Billing earlier this year I gave them feedback about Australian land rovers and they were keen to get the feedback. I also bought a series 2 and series 1 harness from them. Really good to deal with and cheaper than vinwire.

I bought one of them, it was excellent. You will need to get the battery cables and earth cables separately. It was the braided type. You will also need to get the headlight harness - this is separate - in case you have in the grill or in the wing type headlights.

And bullet connectors. You'll need a few of them too. Freight was about 40GBP for the lot - expensive, but then you are importing a large lump of copper.

Lay it out on the floor and then with the aid of the wiring diagram its easy enough to figure out what is what.
