I have always been a fan of Sherlock Holmes, from the Basil Rathbone movies [google it, you wont be disappointed] , to the hollywood movie about the famous Detective. Tonight I watched the latest version, set in 21st century London, and I am wrapped. Here it was on tv, ch9. Too many adds, but who cares, BRILLIANT! Will we ever see Moriarty? Is this Holmes addicted, and to what? Will this Holmes @ Watson bounce off each other brilliantly like the best in the past? THE GAME IS ON! Bob

Started watching it but it did not grab me in the first 15mins and I became bored so switched over to watch something else.

Did you get the BBC series over there with Benedict Cumberbatch (or whatever it is)? I thought it was very good and worth a watch. :)

I missed it last night, I forgot it was on. I have always enjoyed the various incarnations of the Sherlock Holmes stories.
That may be because of the family ties.......:D
(My surname is Holmes, for those of you who don't know me - my username came from how a friend at school used to pronounce my inevitable nickname "Sherlock" in his broad Scouse accent)

was on the ABC about 12-18 months ago, I love it!
Only 3 episodes though :( BUT theyre making more :)
the writers are two dr who writers who loved the original conan doyle stuff and basically started with the book, ignored everything else and updated it..
Inspector Lestrade becomes a DI (as would be equivilent for his position today)
Watson is back from Afghanistan as opposed to the 2nd angle-afghan war which went until almost 1900 (ok I think late 1880's ??? ) so not much to update there is it!
Its good the way its filmed too, I love the text msg on screen bit so no cutting away to a shot of a telephone etc etc..
yep its good and a nice refresher, this same mob made JECKELL (as is Dr JECKELL and Mr HYDE update.) (Thats spelt wrong I think)
anyway bring more of it on SHERLOCK,
Yes I agree John bring it on!

Thats the one, slow to start, first show two hours long to introduce the characters, so to speak, but picked up the pace, and really looks the goods. Bob

Ok, any one want to take a wild stab in the dark as to why my name is Basil on here?
Oh, and if you recall who played Dr Watson, you may have a better insight into my first name... But don't call me BRUCE...
I watched the first 15 mins or so, but just couldn't get into it. Might try it again & see.

Your surname is Fawlty?
You live in a tower?

A propensity to using too many herbs in your cooking? - No such thing as too many herbs... And, like the herb, I am sweet, but potent... just ask me..
Your surname is Fawlty? - Myself, maybe. But not by name...
You live in a tower? - although often wanting to, I do not have that fortune.
You are John Cleese? - Alas, no. Although I am a member of the Ministry of Funny Walks.
I do like your thinking, thou..
