After breaking down this week, RACQ has paid for our accommodation and car hire (benefit of RACQ Ultimate, and being >100km from home).
We got a hire car from Hertz, and when SWMBO dropped me off at the mechanics, she ripped the side-skirting off the hire car on a bollard!
So, not sure but I suspect I'm liable for up to $2200 excess - anyone know if this is the case? If so, anyone know how much for a replacement skirting off a 2010 Falcon XR6?
What a week... :o

Silver. Would probably require a whole new skirt, the last one was ripped clean off and mounts damaged. I don't suppose you can just buy these already painted and clip them on?

Call Darren and see what he's got......
I know side skirts for Commodores are generally under $300 new, if you pay more than $500 to get it painted, you're getting ripped off......

If the cost of repair is less than the excess then you should only pay the cost of repair. Obviously if it is over the excess then just the excess.
I would never let a SWMBO drive a hire car - the financial risk is too great.
Good luck with it.

The insurance on the hire car should be covered by your insurance company.
I had the 110 in at Land Rover Alice Springs for a couple of days on my last trip, and RACV suppied accom & hire vehicle. When I asked the hire company about insurance and excess, they said it was covered by RACV, who were the ones actually hiring the car.
So hopefully, just an apology should do without a cash ransom.

I really hope so, but with the run I've had lately, probably not :( I'll find out tomorrow I 'spose...
