Just wondering if there are any do's and dont's before I start removing the engine, or any tips that will help now and at a later date when re installing it into my dormobile ???
I'll be labeling certain wires etc. so I remember where they go  but is there anything else I should be thinking about ??
I've noticed that the throttle shaft seal is leaking, is this an easy fix ?? Now or later ??
Thanks in advance

Take plenty of pics of wiring and any items you remove, Regards Frank.

if you are yanking as a unit, the wiring is simple enough.
Fuel cut solenoid, oil pressure, water temp, starter and alternator.
Prepare a few choice words for the exhaust flange nuts.
I think its easiest to pull the rad out before engine, makes the whole pulling off gearbox input a doddle.
Make sure both lifting lugs are present, ive come across a few 300 missing the front one?

I've got to the stage where I'm ready to lift the engine out, but I'm not sure if I should remove the bolts on the engine mount brackets that help secure the flywheel housing  Looks like it could be awkward to lift and pull from the gearbox at the same time.
I've had no problems with any bolts, in fact the exhaust flange nuts were easy :)
I'm not sure about the wiring though, is it easier to alter the series wiring rather than sabotage the defender loom ??

jerry,
If i understand what you are asking. No point removing those bolts. Flywheelhousing will come with engine.
Support donk on crane
Remove all the M10 bolts between flywheel house and gear bag
Remove engine mounts at chassis rails
Slide forward and out.
