Yes, another stupid poll.
Perhaps we should sell out vehicles, that are loved and well maintained and drive a crappy old fordenota with poor brakes, a blown brake light etc etc.
Help even the balance - VOTE NOW!

58% of who?
Not a compulsory vote so only those who have a strong opinion (or nothing better to do) have voted. Meaningless press sensationalism.

Small cars should be banned. They cause a lot of damage when they become jammed under the radiator of my 4x4.

It would be interesting to see what their defination of 4 X 4 is,as there are a lot of vehicles capable of 4 x 4 from Suzis to Audi's

So Toyota introduces the 200series in 2x4. Problem solved. Also pedestrian walks on foot path, car drives on road. Don't walk on the road and I wont drive on the foot path.

A poll taken at a greens meeting would hardly be representative of the whole population.

4x4 poll states all non-4wd supporters should be banned from the city - now there's a poll worth taking part in

Here are two points that have not been mentioned:
1) I can afford to to drive my D2 4.0L so way should I be judged for that (after all I'm helping the economy)
2) I live in Christchurch NZ... The roads are so bad that a car in not a sensible option, even now.
I believe having a 4x4 is part of being ready, my wife was driving the disco during one of the 5.0 aftershocks and was quite safe and still able to get home.
I know you guys have not had an earthquake (to this extent) but there will be other risks you live with I'm sure (we never saw this coming).
I believe it is ignorance from lack of contact that causes people to come up with these ideas.
Example: A nutter goes and tears up the local riverbed, and the cry is ban 4x4's.
The same is true of firearms but I'll save that for the soapbox;)

Dont you dare try and ban small cars!
Without small cars we wont have any crumple zones or reverse parking sensors:angel:

Simple really ... if 4x4's are banned from city & suburban roads ... then small compact non 4x4 cars should be banned form rural and country roads !
Keep 'em in the city ... where they belong!

To all the faithful, I maybe preaching to the converted.
I gave the no a go, the percentage took a move towards a more pleasurable outcome.

They had better make sure they keep the 4WD Territories out and don't hinder the 2WD Territories.

Rickshaws? Doesn't the power source give off CO2 in its exhaust and methane as another by-product ?
What then about the Kid's pedal car? must a example be made, by confiscation of their pride and joy.

Those buses running around town are really dangerous, so big and unwieldy.
They can be banned as well, along with the delivery trucks.
Neither of these classes of vehicle are at full capacity all of the time, so the efficiency is questionable.
As for trains, have you seen how long those things take to stop?
They don't steer well either....
