Has anyone looked at putting the Polaris Universal GPS setup in their D3?
Mine is the SE model so I have an empty space where the factory screen sits.
Thanks

There is a thread here about the Polaris, http://www.aulro.com/afvb/gps/134754-polaris-ng-7700-a.html
I'd be getting a chinese DoubleDin GPS/DVD for less than half the price, just make sure the OS is WinCE & youll be able to run favourite GPS software on it.
I use a regular Garmin Nuvi for street stuff & oziexplorer / hema on my indash GPS

I agree - Polaris is not a top product. My brother has one in his LC and wishes he had not bought it - it works but is expensive for waht you get - there are better products like the chinese Win CE systems on ebay.

I vote for the 5" Chinese GPS for around $90 that comes with a AV input for a reversing camera. GPS aquisition and map scrolling is pretty good.

I have a D3 and have thought about putting in an aftermarket kit. However, my Tom Tom GPS works perfectly when I place it in the 'empty area' on the gash board. I used to use the window mount but I don't need to now.
