Dads 2008/2009 D-Max has a dash warning light that looks like a car with a spanner vertically across the doors (between the Fr & Rr wheels).

The owners manual shows a picture of it, along with an explanation of checking that the (pictured) Charge, Check Engine, Oil Pressure lights go out after starting the engine ... but makes no mention of what this 4th light is ... even though it showa a picture of it along with the other 3x lights ?

Anybody have any idea what it's for ?

It came on the other day whilst he was driving, but everything seems in order and the vehicle is driving/running normally.

He rang the Isuzu dealership the car was purchased from, but they seem to have no idea, and said that if it's not hindering the operation of the vehicle in any way to just ignore it :o (it has since gone off and not come back on again)

Indicates that the vehicle is ready for a service. Can come on intermittently, or continuously. Prolonged use can cause damage to emmision controls.

If the light comes on, and the engine shuts down, its gone into protection mode.

OK. Makes sense ... car, spanner ... "service".

It is overdue for a service.

Thanks.
