Maybe Tyrepower should try to convince the importers to bring in the LT versions like 265/65/18 as I think they would be popular particularly if they were price competitive like the current range.

Yes cause the current GGs are rubbish off road, they only have to look at a dirt road and they go flat.
265/65/18 BFGs are $500:eek: bloody crooks they are, especially when they are half that overseas:twisted:
Sorry for the rant
Baz.

Did yours go flat? The prevailing opinion on AULRO is that they are quite good for a AT.
I agree that BFGs are overpriced (got similar quotes with 3 month waiting list).

Exactly my experience as well. All sidewall damage so they are not repairable. This was a couple of years ago, 2 in 1 trip, another a few months later and another a few months after that. I had 11 tyres all up, one new set of 5 and 6 second hand ones and I think I have 5 left in reasonable condition and that is only because I took them off the car and went to 17" Cooper STTs swapping with the original Goodyears. I just cut the sidewall of one of the Goodyears recently and am now looking for something to use as a strong road tyre. I would like to be able to drive on a simple dirt road without being worried by every bump and rock. I think the problem is two fold, weak sidewalls in the first place and the incorrect size tyre for the rim. I think that second one because when inflated to the proper pressure the sidewall of the standard tyre is pretty much already touching the ground and it doesn't take much to damage it. The GGAT2 is the same, sidewall seems to be already almost on the ground.
So I think a wider tread and taller and stronger sidewall are a must, mud style tyres are too noisy and chew too much diesel to run all the time.
Cheers,
TimJ.
