trying Obunto

I installed Ubuntu in the laptop and I like it :)
The only problem is me, I am slow learner and I cannot understand how to install Skype for Ubuntu :(
Someone have to come with a version for slow old brick head people :D
Runing Win XP with NOD32 ans Malwarebites I fund out that when runing netstat I have heaps of open ports. How I can check this in linux (Ubuntu) or I do have to worry about it?

Why every body call diferent names to the components in Ubuntu and the versions of it? :confused:
