For what is Aus posts busiest time of year I commend the efforts of those tired workers who have been doing the hard yards over the last week.
Just received a package at 6.45pm, by Aus post contractor, yes been going since 6.am all day still has another 1/2 hour to go and it's hot.He looked exhausted. Been looked after all year by him with deliveries so gave him a bottle of scotch in appreciation.
They are often forgottn

Our postie is always delivering our mail elsewhere. And others mail to us. When we complained we were told it was his new glasses!!!!:D
He'll get no present from me.

Remember when we used to leave a 6 pack out for the garbo's, a long neck for the postie & milky....
One way to guarantee good service for the next 12 months... ;)

Our Australian Post Courier has worked out that the green Landie in the driveway isn't locked and he can leave my parcels in there so they won't get wet if it rains and they won't be in view of anyone passing by.
He'll get a slab.
Top bloke.
The one on the bike who delivers the letters, however, won't. He won't even get off his bike and ring the doorbell if he has anything we have to sign for. Just leaves a pickup slip and we have to drive to the nearest mail centre to pick it up. I caught him doing it one day - he didn't even look embarrassed.

australia post is not the same any more as it was 10 plus years ago but the contractors and couriers are still okay

Our postie got a six pack but he only lives down the road so can drop in anytime for a coldie.
Our courier is a top chick who always gets looked after but we haven't seen her leading up to Christmas this year so when she comes by next time she'll be looked after. As for the garbo's they do a #%€£ job and have just changed contractors so diddly squat for them this year.

Our AusPost contractor is either a thief, a liar or an imbecile! Apparently he delivered a $670 item to our address while I was home all day. AusPost even have a signature for it, but unfortunately it's not mine or my wife's. Still waiting on an outcome

As for going to the post office, since they are now contracted out as sub branches I travel to the next suburb to post my parcels.
The post office sub branch in my neighborhood is owned and operated by Chinese, I have trouble understanding them, they are so slow and even though they have been there for a couple of years, I still don't think they know what they are supposed to do. Comedy capers! They shouldn't be in that sort of business they are out of their depth. As for mail, if a street sounds similar then it's a lottery who gets the mail.
I've had it mentioned to me by numerous locals.

back when most addresses were hand written it was a toss of the coin trying to figure out the address

I throw the garbo something as he looks the other way when I put 2 bins out at certain times and also is blind to the fact that we should have a small bin and put out the large one. But if the council want to halve our bin size and not give us a green waste bin service screw 'em.

Rem inds me of a mate of mine, he lives at number 4 and put out a couple of extra wheelie bins with 4A and 4B as if he had sub divided his block and had units behind. He got away for a while until one morning the extra bins disappeared.
He also had a function at his home, and parking is a problem in his street, so he moved the no standing sign on to another pole.

we have even had parcels left at the post office and no cards leftWe must have the same postie.
Leslie received a card to collect an Express Post satchel from the Post Office. While she was there, they asked if she'd like the 2 other packages that had been sitting there for over a month .
A complaint has been sent to Aust Post but the Post office said the best way to make sure we receive our mail is to rent a PO Box!!
Stuff that!!

Scouse, we have a PO Box but still have mail go missing.
We had a birthday card go AWOL in October and a parcel with Xmas gifts go AWOL in December. Both posted from Bathurst (from different people) to our PO Box here in Bunbury WA.
AU Post is a complete lottery. We have had the items above go missing but other parcels posted from Bunbury WA arrive in Sydney 2 days later!

No the best way for us to receive our parcels is to get posties that do their bloody job properly!!
how hard can it be seriously:mad:
And yes we have put a complaint in as well, will be our second time and the neighbour has put on in too because he is sick of receiving evreyones mail. the stupid women even left a note in his post box with everyone's mail the other day that said Sorry!!! can only assume she was actually too lazy to drive down the road because he is the first house on the corner

you guys should arrange a vist to the dead letter office in your state and have a look at the addresses some people put on thier stuff and they swear blind they put the correct address on it . at christmas time is the best you get so many christmass cards where the person has put the first name of who the card was meant for and nothing else no return address and most of the cards contain money they then abuse A/P for not delievering the cards :(

used to have a good aust post courier here nice and reliable but 6 months ago they changed contractors and now it is a lottery on what or who you get. i don't think they know anything about the business or even if they can speak much English as they only grunt at you when you say gidday. they leave mail that is clearly stamped DO NOT SAFE DROP and when i complained the next delivery i got was an ordinary parcel that they didnt bother delivering and just dropped a tag in the letter box.
and yes the local post office was run pretty well and now some asian :wasntme:people have it and i have never seen the ques as long as they are now, i cant comment on what they are like as i have not done any business there for a while
you got me started now :firedevil::soapbox:

Dont get me started with the mail service:mad::mad::mad:
Try living in the pilbarra. Express post. Phhhft, you might get it in about a week and then they just leave a card in the mail box even when you catch them out doing it numerious times. and normal mail well it's a lucky dip on when you get it. sometimes it is faster than the express post and other times it takes about 4months.
