Can I not suggest Two Wheels.

By which I mean I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

Why - I innocently asked on a different forum what was going on over at TW with the attitude of some of the people. It was a genuine question as I was not (at that time) aware of any inter forum rivalry / animosity /aggression.

On neither forum was I rude.

They obviously have soft skins at TW because in the last couple of days -
I have been called a VERY rude C word (interestingly unfiltered on that forum)
I have been told to p off
I've been told I need to be contrite and "eat humble pie"
I've been told I had a ban against me (I thought it was just a logging on problem because I was never notified)

Its a really odd pack mentality they have over there, among a number of the members at least.
No doubt the vast majority are normal well adjusted friendly nice people. I've certainly had good advice from various of them over the years.

Probably of all things that I dislike about TW the very common use of the C word grates the most. Surely they have female members. I don't know ANY women who tolerate or appreciate the use of that word- maybe I live a sheltered life in that respect?

The fact that this goes on under the banner of a national magazine is amazing.

It's a shame because this is the second time I've been a member there. The first time was quite a few years ago and it was a positive experience. When I started on there this time it was OK. But as soon as you mention them negatively in public god help you !

Oh well,

I think I hear Santa.

MERRY CHRISTMAS. (<-- The Good C word, not the one referred to above)

Now to count the minutes and see how long before theres a post on TW accusing me of doing god knows what to them on AULRO...

I hear you, have found similar.Your better off finding a forum relating specifically to the brand or even model, you generally get a better deal.I have found ADV pretty good as an all round deal.

I am no longer a member. I disliked the language and the attitude and abuse of/by some. For reasons which I won't go into and about which the the Admin didn't care, I asked to have my membership removed. I had been a member for many years.

It's odd that the CoC is the same as Overlander (both previously owned by News Ltd and both now owned by Express) yet OL is much more strict in following those rules. 2W doesn't seem to follow them at all. It wasn't as bad up until a few years ago.

My wife and I are still friends with many on the forum and attend BBQs, parties, weddings, etc. of some - or have them around here. My wife corresponds with many of them on Facebook - most of whom she met after joining the forum following Bucko's death.

I've just had a look on there today - C word used at me again... I think some of the people on there must have the mind of a 5 year old.

Yeah Ron I made sure that I made no comment re the high quality of previous moderator (s) - god knows how they would have taken that - since they seem to want to take everything personally.

It is a real shame.

Bucko used to be one of the Admins. :p But I don't think he'd have let it get out of hand like it has.

Try motorcycle.com as they have a whole host of different model/brand specific sites. I'm a member of ducati.ms and find it quite good as its a worldwide site. There's 4 other members in my model all in Perth which is pretty good for an international site. Much like AULROians, always very helpful when you have a question.

If it's a metallic grey Forester turbo, it is. The previous metallic blue Forester also had a Bucko sticker (like my signature pic).

Where did you see it?

I'm also on a WA-based bike forum - Mildcogs Forum • Index page (http://mildcogs.com/forum/index.php) - some of the guys started it after Two Wheels killed the WA sub-forum.

Yep. Re-read my post that's exactly what I was getting at.
It seemed better back then and Bucko was one of the reasons I think.

Somewhere out Emu Plains way, I was driving in my new ute so you wouldn't have noticed me and I couldn't wind down the windows and wave due to them just being tinted.

Next time.
