Well - there I was, just driven onto the vehicular ferry that runs from Raymond Island (Gippsland Lakes - Victoria) over to "Paynseville" ( a trip of about two minutes - really !) - I was in a row of five cars in lane No.1 and after a few minutes a line formed up in lane No 2 ... beside me was a Toyota Landcruiser and the driver wound down his window and called out to me "where's your trailer ?"
"What trailer ?" was my reply...
"To carry all your spare parts when you break down" was his jocular reply... which seemed to amuse his passengers very much ...
I just smiled and put my window back up and waited for the ferry to pull up on the Paynseville side of the river ... I started my engine and lane No 1 began to drive off ... I looked across at the Landcruiser driver and he seemed to be struggling with his keys ... and guess what ? the mighty Landcruiser wouldn't start !!!!! HO HO HO - I put my window down and called out in my best christmas voice "Have a nice day" and drove off the ferry and headed towards Melbourne ... leaving one very embarrassed Landcruiser driver (and several cars behind him) to sort out his lack of mobility ... it's times like this that I think God must drive a Land Rover.
True story - I was still chuckling to myself half way back to Melbourne. :D
The best Christmas present that I've had in years !!!!!
