Gents,
I want to mount a fire extinguisher on the side panel next to the tailgate, where the tailgate restrainer (one on either side, whatever its called) slides into the plastic side panel.
How do I remove this panel to gained access? After removing the rear door seal and looking in the gap it looks like the whole side panel has to slide forward????
Cheers,
Mark

Mark,
Do you want to remove the whole panel or just dislodge it to gain access for your paw to tighten bolts?
To remove you need to undo Phillips head screw behind the 2nd row doors, there is a "D" shaped panel that pops out.
Then undo the floor mounted tie down points 6mm Allen key. Then remove the floor trims this then lets the bottom of the panel become visible.
At the tail gate end the stricker "D" shaped panel pops out again. You either unclip the retractable cables at the lower tail gate end with a flat blade, be careful not to lose the clip. Partially remove the door seal around the tail gate just enough for the panel, again be careful there is a white resin that sticks to anything & is a pain to get off.
Then just slowly prise the panel away from the body, you will see the style of clips when you remove the door seal, the are easily visible & gives you an idea of what holds the panel in.
It slots in under the trim around the glass, when you remove you will see where everything aligns.
If you just want to gain access for your paw, just undo door seal, remove retractable cable, remove "D" shaped panel on stricker & again slowly prise away enough to gain access.
HTH
