Back in September my 2008 SVX went to the local LR dealer in Geneva for the 3rd annual maintenance. I had run up a total of about 53.000 km by then.
When I got the car back and checked if they had properly filled out and stamped the car's Service Portfolio, I noticed that they performed maintenance type A, but did NOT tick the box for having drained the engine coolant fluid and replaced it with new.
The issue is that the Service Portfolio of my SVX clearly states that for the Defender the time to change the engine coolant fluid is: Quote ""every 60.000km/36.000mi or every 3 years, whichever occurs earlier"" Unquote.
When I questioned the dealer about this, they were surprised, and in the end produced an in house document of LR Switzerland to all Swiss LR dealers as guideline for timing of the engine coolant fluid change being 200.000km or 125.000mi. That is what you call a world of difference.....
I also asked LR Switzerland by e-mail about this, and they sent me a copy of their inhouse maintenance schedule which indeed confirms the coolant change as every 200.000 km, and they said the Geneva LR dealer has done everything as required.
When I asked them why the car's Service Manual says every 60.000 km they had no real answer....
What do I make of this? Is this in line with Aussie recommended maintenance schedule, and if it is, is 200.000 km before changing the coolant fluid not terribly long for a Puma? Or is LR Switzerland cutting corners and should I insist on them performing everything which is in my car's Service Manual?
Looking forward to hear. Tks, Eric
