As any dirt road tourer will tell you, ABS is NOT so good on dirt, especially when towing something.

So, after following this thread for ever, P38 Range Rover ABS issues - off road. - Page 12 (http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/7-range-rover-p38a/13835-p38-range-rover-abs-issues-off-road-12.html)

I finally did the mod, to fuse 38 (Thor engine). I used a relay that switched a fused line that was pluged into the fuse position 38 in the fuse box.

Best, cheapest mod you can do! No more problems when braking on dirt, especially when towing the camper.

Can now switch ABS off, when I hit the dirt. The only 'problem' is that I have to switch off the ignition to reload' the ABS.

NO permanent error codes.

Very happy, and now safe, camper!

If you turn off ABS Traction Controll working correctly?

No.
Traction control is also off.
Not normally a problem.
I only need ABS off when towing on fast dirt roads.
If I were to need TC I'd just stop, turn off ignition, throw my switch, start the car and proceed.
