Gday All,

Anyone had this happen, can hear the actuator trying on the lift-up section of the tailgate , but it wont release, even trying it with the masterlock as suggested in the manual..

Looking at the diagrams, its seems the clip may have come off the actuator unit and not pulling the lugs inwards..

Anyone had this, or similar? before I pull the trim off the tailgate thought I would check.

Thanks and Cheers Ean

Back up the hill yet?

Just got home..6pm tonight, and after seeing some of the things i've seen drivers do in the last 3 days, am surprised there are some who have made it to where they are going.

Got to threeways roadhouse yesterday arvo and couldn't open the back to get to the fridge, lucky the red was sitting in the esky :)

Cheers Ean

Well all fixed..what a pain L/R-Ford should be ashamed of that set-up, cant help but think thats designed to fail and sell new parts.

:twobeers: Well done.
It's important to do the mod if you have either a Cargo Barrier or Drawer unit as they might make getting access a little difficult!
As I said mine broke twice before the fix - both times when I was away travelling with a boot full of gear. Murphy's Law I guess.

Great point Rich about when you have a cargo barrier like I do ... another job to look at doing sooner than later!
Things like this are what makes forums specifically for owners so useful:D

Les.

Real pain in the rear end (pardon the pun). I had the lock go the first day of my ski trip in 09. When we went to get ski gear out, nothing just the locking mechanism sounding. I stressed all holidays. When I got back to sydney alittle research revealed the fix, similar to post below. Over kill repair with small gauge cable and some electrical cable joiners. works a treat.

Is it correct that the D4 has an improved version?
