They just migrate to the comfort of the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia and spend their days chugging to and from the many market gardens there.
This has got to be the biggest concentration of series L/R in the world. At one spot I saw about 25 of them in a space of 200 metres. This is the land where L/R rule or at least used to. They are all series 3 I think and I reckon there must be over 200 of them within about 50km radius.
I did see a coupe of 110's and a few defenders and 1 Disco1 but that was the odd one out as the others are all working utes. It is enough to make any L/R fan drool.
Cameron Highlands is a beautiful and surprising spot to visit and I am glad I made the effort to go.
Regards and happy new year to all. :p
Roger.

Hello from Brisbane.
I had heard that the Cameron Highlands had a fairly high incidence of Land Rover ownership.
Lombok in Eastern Indonesia does too - along with some truly weird configurations.

On the right hand side of the second row is that Jeep, have a look at the gap in the windscreen... Its a US gunbuggy... Not quite what digger is after but will get him started. ;)

That VW Country Buggy further along in the second row would have to be a bit of a classic as well.

Yes, looking closer at the tenders, they are Series 2, the ones on the left have had the headlights moved outboard.

Hello again.
I thought for a brief while that it might be a real mule, but I genuinely doubt it. The diffs, wheels and general layout are wrong for a mule, not least most if not all were LHD whereas the bitza is RHD. Generally too heavy and the wrong profile.
Seems more like a "mule" made out of a Blitz, FC or something else.

Could it be the remains of Volvo C303? They were forward control, about the size of a F101. Can't see if the axles are portal or not from the picture. The malaysian army used to have them so there is a good chance some might still be floating around.
(I saw a 6 wheel version being done up in borneo recently).
