those crazy hillbillies!
that's pretty insane.
have seen it before on youtube. they can go and do allot faster. the track becomes like a valley after a while and they just use the walls to bounce off as they go up stupidly steep rock faces.
quite surprised they don't have helmets on. i know that's a pretty serious roll cage but safety is always worth overdoing.

Great video. Shows what excess power can achieve. Remind`s me I need to get out again some time soon.

Great piece of engineering, sweet sound
Shame about the driver having an issue with the grip on his crotch.
Too much money, not enough sense.
Let's pretend it's private property and not a trail or track that gets shut down for all of us in 6 months.
Yer I know it's the USA and we won't see buggies on public tracks, but we've all seen the type here.

Well thats a pretty good visual representation of "If in doubt, power out!" :)
It looks like the driver was learning to modulate the throttle a bit towards the end of the video, instead of his initial "hold it wide open" style.
Thanks for posting the vid :)
Cheers,

He needs a Stihl helmet, with earmuffs.
Can't understand how the wheel broke off so easily tho

His propulsion up hills seemed to rely a lot on the benefits of Newtons Third Law applying to the flying dirt/stone/rock rather than traction.

Most of that stuff is done in dedicated recreation parks, and I doubt the stuff he plays on is a track that any normal 4wd could get to or up anyway.

you are correct roverfan. we have dedicated ORV parks where its allowed to do this sort of stuff. it gives people a place to do it without the need to do it on public tracks... :)

Surely it'd be easier to just walk up. Doesn't look like he's taking that much gear & certainly couldn't tow a camper behind him. :D
Love the sound that thing makes!

When is he entering the King of the Hammers?
I like the design of the rig, would be a fun toy, but as mentioned where would you drive it in Oz. Noticed he has or requires much suspension articulation. Would hate to know what his repair bills are like.

...where would you drive it in Oz. ...
There are plenty of similar (but generally lower spec) rock crawlers which are floating round OZ. They find places to drive.
Here is one of the most capable in OZ - Pete Antunac's buggy. IRC it has a 454 Chev - though is driven with a bit more finesse ;)

p.s. - a lot of the australian buggies use LT230 t-cases!
