I have just realised its the weekend of the Toowoomba Swap.
Why did you pick this ?
The best Swap in QLD and one where I pick up most of the hard to get Series bits.

Do the Friday morning thing and by the time Saturday afternoon and the BBQ comes around the swap will have been picked clean anyway.
I do know how you feel though as it was through this swap meet that I found Sweetpea a couple of years ago.

I understand your frustration Keith, but unfortunately I am unable to put the rest of the world on hold to hold an event. I had a window over a choice of 2 weekends to hold this and this time came out the best.

It needed to be a Sat afternoon to allow those who have to travel some distance time to attend, there were events on both weekends, and I had to work it out with what suited the Goddards. No point having the day without the guest of honor.

Apart from that, what better way to start than on my birthday:D

We might do that.
Tow Tristan to Toowoomba Thursday. camp, do the swap Friday then drive to Petrie either Friday night or Sat morning.
Be the last time we can do that as next year the swap changes to Sat and Sunday.

Well that was a successfull weekend.
Thanks to the organisers they did a top job, and full marks to those who thought of the plaque with the engraved series ID plate. You could see A.G was tickled pink by it all.
We saw some new country on the tour in the afternoon, very impressive, and that was the steepest climb Tristan has done. Shot up in 2nd low.
We camped at the Matilda roadhouse rest area on the way home. We had seen it a few times on passing but never called in. Good spot , seems to be a bit of a secret as never seen it in any of the guides.
Thanks to those who posted the photo,s.
Look forward to seeing you all again.
Keith & Anne.
