Hi Dod, there are a number of threads on soundproofing on this forum, which contain lots of info. Try the search button in the main page navigation bars near the top and you will have plenty to read. All good stuff. Cheers, 130man.

IIRC the Army Defenders have no headlining, or the front section only. When I went from a 2A hardtop to a 2A wagon the noise difference was huge, because of headlining and door trims. Carpet on the flat panels in the back would help too.

Suggest rubber backed carpet for the rear, & line the firewall with this stuff.
dbkill Car Sound Deadener Noise Control Door Boot Kit | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/dbkill-Car-Sound-Deadener-Noise-Control-Door-Boot-Kit-/220929379964?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33706ace7c)
Then get under the bonnet lined with something like this ( if nothing is already there).
1000mm x 500mm Car Sound Deadening / Proofing Sheet Mat | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1000mm-x-500mm-Car-Sound-Deadening-Proofing-Sheet-Mat-/270624861018?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f027fab5a)
If you want to take it further, get underneath with a 4 litre tin of bitumen paint & a 2" brush & do under the floorboards- in addition to rubber mats under your feet !

You don't have to get it thru Ebay, it was easiest way to show products.

Any feedback on the DBKill stuff? was looking at buying some for my defender, did a google search on the product and presto aulro and this post came up.
I costed the noisekiller kit posted from the UK to my door all for $700, cheaper than getting it local by a long shot, but still not cheap.
cheers.
