My 2.7 D4 is in for a new steering column today. Had a bit of a grinding noise when turning the wheel since new. they tweeked a few things when i took it in, but said it would likely need a steering column replacement and to bring it back if their tweeks didn't work,
Anyone else had a similar problem?
cheers

Not with a D4, but my RRS has had both upper & lower steering column shafts replaced. Symptoms were a clonking / knocking noise being transmitted up through the wheel. Since replacement I've had no issues with them.
Just make sure they put the steering wheel straight afterwards, my dealer didn't and it took them ages to get them to sort it out. Massively annoying to have it just off centre enough to make it obvious.

Presently replacing a lower column in a D3, siezed universal joint. The rack is leaking also so off that goes for rebuild.
When I went to order the lower column they had plenty in stock.....:D:p
