I.T... Mmmm just the thought gives me the shivers!! Ok, quick question as I am really computer iliterate!! Finally totally over Skymesh and it's slow, useless and generally unreliable internet/sat phone service so are going back to Telstra (I know I know but they can and do provide). Planning to junk the aged Dell and run with an Ipad 2, as it'll do all the usual Ebay, Facebook, email, Youtube etc. I'm guessing it'll do Aulro and other forums.. Will it? Thanks!

Yeah no problems at all with viewing aulro on a ipad2. Usually the only way view it. May run into some issues with flash player but thats about it.

Doing it now and always find it faster than the laptop and a lot more comfortable...no heat or noise....pity about the flash player though.

There is a couple of apps that make it a lot easier than the net for reading AULRO and other forums
I use tapatalk and Forumrunner
In fact I am on tapatalk now on my iPhone

When was Tapatalk switched back on?
Forumrunner is giving me the poops. Often takes 3 attemps to view a thread.

Use my iPad2 for forums all the time without resorting to Tapatalk etc.
Never have an issue. No flash is not major problem.
I hardly ever notice its lack of presence. Maybe I just don't frequent flash intensive sites that much.

I didnt say better or worse, just the ST does Flash.
Its horses for courses mate, what suits me may not suit you.
I no longer get into the apple v whatever debate if i can help it.
I would suggest to anyone looking for a tablet check out ipad then you have a benchmark from where to judge.
If you want a couple of nice options check out the Motion CL900 or the Asus EP-121 both very nice bits of kit and more or less in the same price range as ipad
just buy what you want/need/like and put up with it.
Lets face it if we where follow the crowd people we wouldn't be on a Lany forum ;)

If you want to view flash on an ipad then get the Skyfire internet browser from the app store (free:)). It doesn't play it "in place" but will play any flash movies on internet pages as pop up type items.
If you only want to use an ipad for everything, then a stand and bluetooth keyboard work well for extended typing.

my opinion is that the iPad/phones are not all they are cracked up to be
Try the new Samsung Galaxy
better features and superior support
most web pages should be ok with the iPad as with all tablet pc's

Thanks all! Good info! Thought I'd have the Pad by now but no.... Good old Telstra have their heads lodged in a dark place down below.. Got to the credit check bit and all I could get was 'No'.. 'There's a problem and we can't tell you what it is'!! 3 hours and 15 calls to India, Melbourne, Sydney etc and all I'm getting is 'NO'!! Grrrrr! I thought BT in the UK was bad!! Finally get someone who is in Australia who does a bit of digging to find that my credit is A1 (has to be to migrate!) and that Telstra are checking someone else as my last check was 3 yrs ago!! Oh if only Vodafone had recieption here! Will look into the Galixy and others. Several have talked about android etc but it's like the inside of an ECU to me.. Snake pit! If it works and will do what I want thae great! Tdi powered Ipad wud be the go!! Thanks again all!
