Trimming of Front Bumper

Hey guys,

I have had minor rubbing on my front bumper for a couple of years now since I put on the 265/75/16, which has not been an issue until now.

I slightly cracked my front bumper in a bog hole and has pushed in the plastic ever so slightly to make it rub at 75-80% lock. I would like to sort it out before I head off to the high country in a couple of weeks.

Essentially, how do I trim the guard, and is it DIY job or best done by a mechanic?

I have given Google a whirl but to no avail. A Link or detailed explanation would be great.

Had the same issue with my old discovery 2, this is how I got mine to look. Was a easy job. Hacksaw, file and sand paper.

I had to trim mine a bit more on the inside.
Lower inner part of bumper still rubbed on the tyre while turning and flexing. 2" lift with the bigger tyres gives a good aproach angle.

I really like the look of those Disco's, fantastic :)

I run standard size tyres General Grabber AT2 (255/65/R16) on the 8" wide ES rims and pushed the front bumper in 10mm after after hitting a bog hole hard and the tyre then rubbed on full lock. My fix was to loosen the bumper bolts and pull it all back out then re-tighten again, all fixed. If yours is only rubbing after a similar knock, then maybe just try pulling it out again.

What did you do for the inner guards and protecting the bottom of the washer bottle?
