some things I could suggest to check, in my limited knowledge,
would be the movement of front wheels checking railko bushes (aka king pins, steering pins) in the front swivels uneven tyre wear can be a tell tale for that one
steering column movement and play in steering and the steering relay(pain to replace and or fix)
 and diff backlash
and then the normals brakes, oil leaks, electrics working etc
that is a start anyway i could go way further but to me they are the jobs i try to avoid, i am sure the guys here have more stuff but like i say, probly the first things i look at when getting one and tbh the lastest truck i purchased had all those wrong with it and i replaced em all except for the steering relay.
The fact u are getting a pto with it sweetens the deal a bit i must say sounds cool good luck with it bud
series 3 box will have syncros which wont hurt none
