I have a PC (32bit) with Win 7 Ultimate and a laptop (64 bit) with Win 7 Home Premium installed and I want to setup a home network (wifi) to share files between the two.

I have gone into the Network and Sharing center to setup a homegroup but there is already one there (my flatmate ). No matter how much I have tried on both of my computers, the only option given is to join the current homegroup and there is no option to create another.

Googling gives a range of options that do not seem to apply to my computers, likewise the MS solutions all seem to show a second homegroup can be created but the solution does not seem to apply to my issue.

Any advice from the computer gurus out there would be appreciated.

Cheers

Garry

Well if you turn off the other computers except the ones you want to link with the other homegroup is gone as is the join a homegroup option - the create a homgroup option then comes up - so all done.

All found by accident when flatmate switched of their computers. This action is not in the instructions.

Why it is that MS instructions never seem to work??
