Been doing the search but can't find any info, I assume the timing belt on the 2.7 tdi needs changing ?? if it has one and not gears or a chain ?
Need to make a decision today on the D3 MY07 tdi, had someone look at it, report comes back good appearance, already have a mechanical report and comes with a RWC. My "looker" a Toyota man brought up the timing chain question as it was not changed at the 96K service and would have been on a L/C.
Hopefully report back next week on a sucessfull outcome

All belts are 168,000km or 7 years.

Thanks Garry,
I guess that is the big service the dealer told me about when they want to change all the flexible hoses ( brake hoses, radiator, turbo etc ) I thought he said 6 years but could have been 7.
That is a good 2 years off so no worries
Deal is done I now own a D3 MY07 with 88000 on it ! now to get it to Cairns, far cheaper to freight it than for me to go and get it . We'll see, maybe I need a holiday !:D

Flexible brake hoses are due every 6 years - radiator and turbo hoses are not replaced on a schedule and indeed are not even listed for checking as a specific item - other pipes such as PAS, Fuel etc are listed for checking only, when a B service is due every 48,000km or 2 years.
If your new car has 88,000km on it I would be looking to get a steel sump etc put on the gearbox and a mega flush done. The official service interval of 240,000km or 10 years is just too long. Also I would be looking at getting the diffs and transfer case oil changed - in my view (and I think most on here would agree) all the intervals for these in the service schedule are too long.
