Im not sure if this is the right section for this, but im looking to see what some of the more ingenious members have done to store rods in their deefers.
I myself have a 2 door hardtop 110, and im sick of just having them sit on the wheelbox. I should also mention that they generally live in it, as well as a 60kg dog, the occasional mountain bike, 80L icebox, swag, yada yada yada.
Ide like to get them up on the side/under the roof, out of harms way, but just cant work out the best way to do it. Leaving them out isnt an option, and while i have a roofrack, leaving them up there isnt suitable for security reasons.
Thanx in advance for any advice,
Dan

These days they usually live in the boat, but I used to have a piece of pvc pipe cable tied to where the roof meets the side panels (inside the car), the fly rod and baitcaster fit in there nicely (reels hanging out the end and secured by an occy strap).

Usually in water pressure pipe. Available at most hardware store in 6m lengths. Up until recently under Rhino Roof Bars. 2 x 90mm lengths approx 2.5m long each. With screw caps each end. I also put high density foam in each cap trimming enough to allow it to screw up so if there is any movement the rods dont get broken. I also use girls black hair ties to group the rods together.
Now I have a G4 roof rack I will be making some 100mm ones up and attaching to the side. If required you can put a hasp and staple on it and padlock.
Very cheap to make.
If you go to a 4x4 shop they will charge you a fotune for something similar.

Vehicle Fit-out OL South Sydney-Opposite Lock Holdings (http://www.oppositelock.com.au/index.php?action=news&nid=2067) - That is awesome. I will have to drop in and check it out. Now just to find some better pics of it in the mean time.
As for the quick fists, i am just waiting on an email confirmation of shipping from paddocks, and i will be getting a couple of packets (landing net + something else im not sure of yet)
Having just put a 100mm pvc water tank on my rack i did think about adding a second one for roof storage on trips. Possibly tent pole storage as well. Will think a little more about it and it will more then likely eend up happening.
Thanx for all the replies guys, keep the good ideas coming :)
