Sally Nielsen is a wedding planner, whose own wedding plans were turned upside down when her fi ancé suffered a catastrophic stroke, leaving him completely dependent on her and his family for all his needs. When others said she should put him in a home and get on with her life, Sally refused. Sam was the love of her life and she was going to stand by him regardless.
As Sally fought to bring back the man who was her world, she wrote in a series of diaries about her hopes, her anger and her frustration, but above all else, her ever-strengthening love for Sam. With searing honesty, Sally recorded the highs of each small step in Sam’s recovery and the plummeting lows of her own depression and loneliness. These are those diaries. Sammy, I Love You (http://www.boomerangbooks.com.au/Sammy-I-Love-You/Sally-Nielsen/book_9781742379746.htm) is an incredible story of devotion, courage and determination. More importantly, it is an inspiring love story that will make you value every precious moment with the ones you love.
This is an amazing story by an amazing young woman. Hope I am not breaking forum rules, but that's what dads do sometimes for their kids.;)
Just released, it is available in bookstores and on line.

Nugget, by mention of your kids, I take it this is your Sally is your daughter?
If so, it is deeply moving to see someone truly commited and keeping to their vows of Love.
I wish You All, the best for the future.
Dave.

It had the sleeping tablet helping producing extraordinary (albeit temporary) results.

I also saw the story the other night, what a courageous woman. As others have said many would walk away and not want to be burdened by a handicapped person.

Hi Kelvin,
Sorry I missed your last post. Sam has made some slight improvements but still requires fulltime care.
Cheers

I bought the book a few months ago and loved it.. I cried most of the way through it but it really bought it home to treasure those that you have and the true and very real power of love..
My daughter and sister also have read it - I made them buy their own copies lol.. and they haven't stopped talking about it either..
Your daughter is an inspiration to many Wayne.. you have every right to be proud of her.. :)
