Got home late this arvo, two day test run turned into three.Went the scenic route due to floods...
Thanks to Sniegy & staff from his dealership.Car is immaculate, they tossed in a few extras as well.Went out of their way to help with everything.
So now we have a 2.7 D4,white,7seat ebony leather,ediff,rear air,tow pack,xenon headlights.
Tyres are pirelli scorpion zero's,not the usual Goodyears.Maybe they have gone away from the Goodyrs. The pirelli's are a road tyre.
They will be going anyway, have a set of 17' rims on order.
Anyway,it is fantastic to drive, massive jump from the D2,still learning how it all works. The command shift is great. The car is so smooth & quiet.
Will sort some pics out, won't be until the weekend.
One question, should it have one touch windows up?Maybe gotta set up in vehicle set up on dash screen?

Hey Paul,
Glad you returned home safely.
One touch windows should be up & down.
You can reset them yourself by (here we go):p
Push & hold the switch so the window travels all the way down, when it stops, count to 2, then release & then push down again & count to 2.
Then pull up the switch & hold the switch so the window travels all the way up, when it stops then count to 2, then release & pull up again & count to 2.
This will reset the windows to auto travel. This will work for all 4 windows.
Cheers

No worries, thanks for your help again, still has no plates, but all sorted, should be tomorrow.
Wife took the d2 somewher today & the complaint was it just doesn't gooo:p
Umm,& it has a BD chip......
have noticed if you reset the trip meter & average fuel consumption, when you fill it up,then check k's & litres used, the fuel consumption is way out.It was saying average for tank as 8.3l/100,where it was actually doing around 9.8/100.
Anyway, can't wait to get the 17's & then into the rough stuff...:)

Yes - get used to that Paul - it is a "feature" of the D3/D4 series.

Well done on the purchase Scarry, "apparently" we picked up our new D4 on 30 Jan, also from Sneigy and the boys, who like you said were excellent to deal with, sadly though I'm overseas at the moment :(:(, but the wife says its great to drive:mad::mad: Can't wait to get a go at it myself so very jealous of your 3 day jaunt.
Cheers Dave

17's arrived today:):)
Now it's tyre decisions,BFG are at the top of the list.
Good to find a dealer that goes out of their way to help.....
Yer got to sort out signature, just waiting to see what eventuates with the D2 so only have to change it once.......:p
Came home today & hoped to take it for a run,but wife was also busy & didn't get the plates,so had to sit in it & pretend:angel:

Hi Scarry, congrats on the D4!!! Just a quick word about the BFG km2's. I've been running them on the D3 and have found them to be an excellent handling tyre on and off road , particularly offroad;-). However after 22000k's they're down to about 5mm of tread and I think I'll be pushing to get 40k out of them, also they increased cabin noise by about 4dbl at 60k/hr. Personally I consider that noisy :)).NB. I'm not sayin don't buy them just that you'll find them a little noisier than the scorpions ( a tyre I also run on the 19's) and the mileage return is a bit on the low end of expectations.
My travels will take me to Brisbane at the end of Feb maybe we could check out a few of the old tracks if they're still open? ;-)
Regards
Brian

I was thinking of A/T's as i have had a great run with em on the D2.Not much road noise at all.Can get em in LT size 245/70/17 which is what i want, don't want to go any bigger ATM.

Scarry,
Congrats on the new D4, enjoy !!
Regarding tires there seems to have been some positive feedback about the new General Grabber A/T which could be an option. Seem to be reasonably inexpensive as well compared to other options, at least in the 18 in sizes..
Not sure about sizing for 17 in rims but looks like they did a wide range in the old AT2 patter.
Check out some recent threads about Grabbers for more info if you have not done so already.
Just a thought.

Have you had your wheel alignment and suspension checked? I have 16,000km on my set of LT245/70R17 KM2s and they are only down 1mm from new.

Still can't believe they can't get it sorted.
One of my brother's has some Honda thingy, about 6yrs old & it reads within .1 of a l/100k to what you work out calculating from fuel used & distance travelled.

Its only a setting in the CCF that ex-factory has the consumption set to 7% optomistic! My 3.0 is now set at 4% pessimistic and about spot-on but can be a little high or low depending on how its driven.

18th February 2012, 05:02 PM
OK,i am only a novice at this, but what is CCF,& how is it changed?
Surely the dealer could do this?
Graeme

Sorry, CCF is Car Configuration File. It stores lots of information, some of it just as a record and other as parameters that are used by 1 or more ecus to configure how they operate, calculate etc. Dealer diagnotics can modify at least some of the information and products like Faultmate can change most.
