View Full Version : Any Ideas LS1 to 2000 Jackaroo

I know it's not a Land Rover but one of my customers has asked can we fit an LS1 into a 2000 model Jackaroo manual.

I have already thrown a ridiculous expensive and I mean ludicrous minimum price with the option that it will blow out to try and persuade him into getting rid of it but he seems hell bent and I know he has the money.

So any Ideas on where to start for the bits and if it will be able to be engineered before I start in earnest looking for an engineer to guide us through it?

We've already been looking at a Commodore V6 conversion or getting a reco engine but in passing today he mentioned that he would like a V8 and then went on to say LS1 would be great.

I don't think the physical size would be to bigger problem as a 308 fits into the old 4 cyl engine bays ok and the V6 Jacks are wider, it's more if there will be a conversion kit available or will I have to spend months chasing up parts and fitting and re fitting etc etc.

Anyone else (In Victoria) game to take it on, I'm not married to the idea and I would happily pass it onto someone else for a small but reasonable finders fee at the end?

Cheers Casper

The guy needs therapy (or you will after the conversion) Would be a whole lot easier to talk the guy into shelling out for a Adventra, i know its not a real 4WD but either is a Jackaroo , but at least it already has a LS1 .
