Hi All ,
Just need to pick your brains if you dont mind. I am looking to bolster our Discovery stocks with a 99 D2 V8 with all the bells and whistles. It has had the suspension converted from air bags to coils, and shocks (Bilsteins),good paint and interior , no visable oil leaks :o and about 240k on the clock. Is there any gremlins I should be looking for or aware of ?? We will be getting it checked by a mechanic ,but I thought I would give you all a shout first. Any info would be appreciated....Thanks:D

I recently bought a 1999 v8 D2 in VGC and the following are points to check -

The little plastic radiator/coolant hoses need replacing asap(not a reason not to buy it)

Is the Throttle body heater leaking

Does Sunroof leak?

Back door latch operates smoothly

Standard front prop/driveshaft double cardon joint. Is there slop or is it replaced with a greasable one?

Check all electrics(obvious but thought i`d say anyhow)

Have head gaskets been done or?

do the 3 amigos visit?

I`m still learning Landrovers after several Toyotas and I reckon if you love it, buy it and look after it, and it will(should) look after you!

Good luck
