D3 & D4ers,
What is the best way to clean the engine bay plastic parts of the engine bay which has gotten pretty messy from recent river crossings.
1. Soap & water & elbow grease
2. WD40 sprayed and then soap and water.
3. High pressure spray
Thanks all

Hi Mike,
I've used Rig Wash with some success, Simple Green seems to work quite well, better success with Rig Wash. A slight spray of WD 40 afterwards looks nice but does attract dust afterwards. I used a HP cleaner once it cost me a tranny module so I don't do that any more. I use a garden hose on a tight setting creating more of a generous mist than directed water, WD 40 around electrical connections and that is me pretty well done.

Alloy wheel cleaner worked well for me. Be careful not to spray water behind the battery as you can fry the transmission module.

Thanks gents for the advice.
Figured that the high pressure option was a no no with all the electrics - but you go to the car wash places and they insist that it is ok to spray the engine bay. Will keep clear of the HP spray then.
Looks like I will try WD40 spray to lift the grit & then old fashioned elbow grease with soap and water. Will look out for Rig wash and alloy cleaner too.
Cheers and happy driving.
