Hey All,
Chasing water proof seat cover for my SVX, not so easy.
Not having any luck, LR list the part numbers on their web site but when I tried to order them I was told that they are not available in Australia.
I found some on Ebay but not sure of fit and quality -
eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120766095087'ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)
Any ideas or experience.
Cheers

If I put waterproof covers on mine I could channel the water from the sunroof to the carpets quicker.

Check with Recaro supliers in the UK and USA.
It will most probably not be Land Rover branded, but waterproof seat covers are big in the UK. We all know by now that it will be cheaper than local as well...

I don't think you can get them for the Recaro's. I seem to remember someone on here contacted Recaro direct with no luck. Thay look the goods though Drover.

I have got quote of 114GBP of the pair from UK supplier, just waiting on freight charges to be quoted.
Not sure if I will get these or the Ebay version.
If any other SVX owner are interested I can post additional details.

just out of curiosity drover why didnt you just post where they were from rather than 400 PM's I'm assuming your not the owner of the business in which case it is fine for you to share that type of information freely on the forum.
Its no different from someone pointing someone in the right direction for parts or a bullbar

Instead of buying the wetseat covers I have access to a neoprene manufacturing facility. The wetseat covers seem to be just cross stitched and butt glued but not taped (clarification anyone?). I could have them done in a bi-directional stitch to allow stretch, butt glued (heat cured) and taped to fully seal and stop the seams tearing. Might get a set knocked up for the D2.

They sound great, if you won't start making them for SVX' front seats I am sure you will be able to sell them quick smart. I will make an order now :D
Problem is, at the moment is no body, not even Recaro, make any covers to fit them.
So we are left with the plastic rain coat type material that the genuine LR water proof covers are made from.

Depending on price obviously, but I'd be interested.

If someone can meet me one day to tee up an hour or so for measuring I can get a quote.
Looking at their gallery, they are even rougher than I expected. No wonder they tear out the seams. They are made in the same way you'd make clothing!
I'll drop in and try to get an estimate based on a D2 (my model) and go from there.

Do you mean to measure the seat or measure the OEM L/R seat covers ?
What part of syd you in ?

The original seats would be best as I could make a master pattern to manufacture later from. I'd make in two parts, the base and back, have a zip up the back of the seat back, a flap at the hinge (either velcro or another zip) and another velcro/zip system underneath to keep the base on.
But if the genuine covers are a good enough fit I could work from those but the end result would be a fit as per theirs. So any bagging/tension would be replicated.
I'm in Seven Hills, and available all day during the week. I can organise some time with the machinists to inspect & measure in advance and meet there. He's been making my wetsuits for over ten years and apart from working suits (I'm a commercial diver) which can be trashed in a day or two I still use the first ever suit he made me (apart from being a bit snug these days). Choice of colors, red, orange, blues, silver, white, black, pink, purple, greens and black, matching or contrasting threads.

They are just knock off's of the genuine Land Rover versions. They are alright but you need another cover over the top as they just plastic raincoat type material.
Clubagreenie keep moving forward with yours they sound great.;)
